Location: Magnolia Room, Mary Alice Warren Community Center
To promote reading readiness and visual literacy, preschoolers and their caregivers will explore art and ideas through activities that encourage dramatic play, music, movement, and art-making, using a work of art or item from Reynolda House Museum of American Art’s collection as a starting point. The program will take place indoors and outdoors. Advance registration is required. This opportunity is free thanks to a grant from the Shallow Ford Foundation. Single-session classes are for 3-5 year olds and a caregiver.
Sunday, June 26: This session will explore Worthington Whittredge’s painting The Old Hunting Grounds.
Saturday, July 16: This session will explore Charles Burchfield's watercolor painting The Woodpecker.
Saturday, July 23: This session will explore George Inness’ The Storm.
