Reynolda House and “Tiffany Glass” tickets are now available

Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light opens to the public Oct. 6

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Sept. 14, 2020) – On Friday, October 2, Reynolda House Museum of American Art will reopen at reduced capacity, and with timed reservations required and additional COVID restrictions in place, for its members and volunteers, along with first responders and Wake Forest faculty, staff, and students as part of its reopening Weekend of Gratitude. The museum has been closed since March 14. Reservations are now available online at reynoldahouse.org. 

Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light will open on Oct. 2 as part of the museum’s reopening Weekend of Gratitude and will be on view in the Mary and Charlie Babcock Wing Gallery through Nov. 29. The exhibition was originally scheduled to open in March.

Tickets for the Oct. 6 public opening are now available online and all visitors will be required to sign up in advance for a timed admission ticket in order to control capacities. Reynolda House will operate a reduced capacity of 30%, allowing for a maximum of 30 tickets to be sold per hour. 

In addition, Bank of America cardholders will be able to sign up in advance for free admission to the museum on Oct. 3-4 and Nov. 7-8 as part of the company’s Museums on Us program. 

The museum has been hard at work behind-the-scenes to develop thorough health and safety guidelines for its visitors, volunteers, staff members and the community. 

A preview of what visitors can expect at their visit includes the following: 

  • Visitors will be asked to maintain a six-foot physical distance from others and distance markers will be marked from the front desk out to the sidewalk.

  • Visitors older than two will be required to wear a face covering. Face coverings will be available if needed. 

  • All tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets may be purchased in any available quantity. Refunds or rescheduling options will be offered to visitors who have tested positive for the virus or are currently showing COVID-19 symptoms, have had symptoms in the last 14 days, or were in close proximity to a confirmed or presumed COVID-19 case. 

  • Cash will not be accepted for any purchases.

  • Visitors are asked to leave all large personal belongings over 11 by 15 inches in their vehicles or at home to help maintain a safe environment for visitors.

  • The following spaces will be closed to the public due to space constraints:

    • The West Bedroom 

    • The Attic

  • Visitors cannot self-tour the museum with a group larger than four or more.

  • Increased sanitation efforts will be in place.

  • All staff members and volunteers will wear a face covering and undergo thorough health and safety training and daily health checks.

  • Plexiglass has been installed at the museum’s front desk, and reduced capacity signage will be in place.

  • For the protection of our visitors, water fountains and iPads for touring will not be available for use.

  • Strollers and wheelchairs will be provided if requested and will be cleaned prior and after each use.
