An Autumn Escape to Clove Brook Farm Benefitting Reynolda Gardens of Wake Forest University

On November 7, Reynolda Gardens of Wake Forest University hosted Christopher Spitzmiller, author of A Year at Clove Brook Farm. Known to family and friends as the ultimate weekend farmer, Spitzmiller raises his own handsome chickens, grows his own flowers, and puts up his own jam, cider, and honey. In this—his first book—he treats readers to a full year at his country retreat, Clove Brook Farm. Organized into four seasons, A Year at Clove Brook Farm is filled with tips on garden planning, seasonal flower arrangements, and living with animals.
Guests enjoyed light refreshments, a lively talk, and a book signing by the ultimate weekend farmer Christopher Spitzmiller in a glamorous tent at Reynolda Village. Attendees supported Reynolda Gardens’s efforts to restore the original flagstone pathways bordering the Formal Gardens.
“I hope this book inspires you to try something new around your own home, whether it’s sowing in a few fruit and vegetable seeds in a pot or welcoming friends over for a home-cooked dinner,” Christopher says.
